Job Brief
As a Ceramic Mold Designer, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative ceramic molds for various manufactured products, including automotive components, home appliances, and children’s toys. This role requires a blend of artistic creativity and technical expertise, leveraging research on product functionality, market trends, and material properties to create visually appealing and highly functional mold designs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial design or ceramics, with excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities
- Design and model ceramic molds using CAD software and other design tools.
- Collaborate with product engineers and manufacturers to ensure mold feasibility and efficiency.
- Conduct thorough research on materials and market needs to inform design decisions.
- Prototype and test mold designs to ensure functionality and performance standards.
- Revise and improve designs based on feedback and testing results.
- Maintain documentation of design processes, materials used, and specifications.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in ceramic design technologies.
- Provide technical guidance and support to manufacturing teams during the production phase.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Ceramics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in mold design, preferably in ceramics or related materials.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and mold design tools.
- Strong understanding of materials science and ceramic properties.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of production processes and manufacturing techniques for ceramics.
