Job Brief
As a Casting Director, you will be responsible for producing and directing a variety of stage, television, radio, video, or film productions. Your primary duties will include making creative decisions related to script interpretation, casting actors and guests, and overseeing set design, sound, special effects, and choreography. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in casting and directing, along with strong communication and leadership skills to guide talent and production staff effectively.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with producers and directors to understand the vision and requirements of each production.
- Conduct auditions and screen tests to evaluate and select suitable actors and talent.
- Interpret scripts to determine character requirements and overall production needs.
- Supervise rehearsals, providing guidance to actors on performance and character portrayal.
- Coordinate with production teams to ensure all creative elements align with the vision.
- Manage casting budgets and schedules, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Build and maintain relationships with talent agencies and industry professionals.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging talent to enhance casting decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Film, Theatre, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Casting Director or in a similar role within the entertainment industry.
- Strong understanding of acting techniques and character development.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in casting software and tools for managing auditions and talent databases.
- Creative mindset with a keen eye for talent and storytelling.
- Flexibility to travel and work irregular hours as needed for auditions and productions.
