Job Brief
As a Cardiac Technician, you will play a crucial role in conducting diagnostic tests on the pulmonary and cardiovascular systems of patients. Your primary responsibilities will include performing electrocardiograms, assisting in cardiac catheterizations, and conducting pulmonary function tests. Responsibilities
- Conduct and analyze electrocardiograms (ECGs) to assess heart health.
- Assist in cardiac catheterization procedures under the direction of healthcare professionals.
- Perform pulmonary function tests to evaluate lung capacity and function.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs during testing procedures.
- Prepare patients for tests and explain procedures to ensure comfort and understanding.
- Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accurate results.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop patient care plans.
- Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations in all testing activities.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Cardiac Technology, Cardiovascular Science, or a related field.
- Certification as a Cardiac Technician or equivalent, such as Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS).
- Proven experience in performing ECGs and other cardiovascular diagnostic tests.
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
