Job Brief

As an Air Traffic Coordinator, you will be responsible for controlling air traffic on and in the vicinity of the airport, as well as managing the movement of air traffic between altitude sectors and control centers. You will ensure the safety and efficiency of commercial airline flights by authorizing, regulating, and controlling air traffic according to established government and company regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience in air traffic management.

Responsibilities

  • Control and coordinate air traffic within assigned sectors to ensure safe and efficient flight operations.
  • Authorize takeoffs and landings of aircraft while adhering to established procedures and safety regulations.
  • Monitor aircraft positions and movements using radar and communication systems to prevent collisions.
  • Provide clear and concise instructions to pilots to facilitate smooth and timely flight operations.
  • Communicate effectively with other air traffic control personnel and relevant authorities to ensure operational cohesion.
  • Assess and respond to emergency situations promptly, ensuring passenger safety and compliance with emergency protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of flight plans, communications, and air traffic control operations.
  • Participate in regular training and development programs to stay updated on air traffic control technologies and regulations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Air Traffic Coordinator or similar role in air traffic management.
  • Valid air traffic control certification and relevant aviation industry qualifications.
  • Strong understanding of air traffic control procedures, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with pilots and team members.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and make quick, informed decisions.
  • Proficient in using air traffic control software and radar technology.
  • Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail and spatial awareness.
  • Willingness to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
