Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Air Hammer Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will perform physical labor at various construction sites, operating air hammers and other hand and power tools. The Air Hammer Operator will be responsible for site preparation, excavation, and assisting craft workers, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Operate air hammers and other tools, including earth tampers, cement mixers, and mechanical hoists.
- Perform tasks involving physical labor such as digging trenches and clearing sites.
- Set braces to support excavation sides and erect scaffolding as required.
- Assist with survey measurements and site preparation activities.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas by removing debris and waste materials.
- Collaborate with other craft workers to ensure project completion and adherence to specifications.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks and hazards on job sites.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant training or certifications preferred.
- Proven experience operating air hammers and other construction tools.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials.
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and practices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions and at different job sites.
