We are seeking a skilled Type Setter to join our team, responsible for formatting and proofing text and images submitted by designers and clients into polished, print-ready pages. The ideal candidate will have experience in both digital and photo typesetting, ensuring high-quality output and precision in the finished product. Proficiency in producing printing plates and a keen eye for detail are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Format and proofread text and images to create visually appealing layouts for print and digital media.
- Utilize industry-standard typesetting software and tools for efficient production processes.
- Collaborate with designers and clients to understand project specifications and requirements.
- Produce printing plates and ensure quality control throughout the typesetting process.
- Maintain organized files and documentation for all projects, ensuring easy access for team members.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in typesetting and print production.
- Implement feedback and revisions from clients to achieve optimal final products.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Type Setter or in a similar role within the print and publishing industry.
- Strong proficiency in typesetting software such as Adobe InDesign, QuarkXPress, or similar tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong understanding of typography and layout principles.
- Familiarity with both digital and photo typesetting techniques.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with designers and clients.
- Knowledge of printing processes and production techniques is a plus.
