Job Brief
We are seeking an experienced Tanker Driver to operate a tractor-trailer combination or a truck with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of at least 26,001 pounds. The ideal candidate will have a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) and a strong commitment to safety and compliance with all transportation regulations. As a Tanker Driver, you will be responsible for transporting liquids, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the integrity of cargo while adhering to all safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Operate tanker trucks to transport liquid cargo safely and efficiently.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Unload cargo as required, following all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance.
- Adhere to federal, state, and local transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and issues.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on the vehicle as needed.
- Complete necessary documentation for cargo and deliveries in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a tanker endorsement.
- Proven experience as a tanker driver or in a similar driving role.
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety protocols.
- Ability to operate heavy-duty trucks and perform basic vehicle maintenance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening as required by DOT regulations.
