Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Duct Installer to fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products, primarily focusing on ductwork for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication and installation, proficiency with fabricating machines, and strong attention to detail. Key skills include welding, soldering, and the ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble sheet metal products, including ducts, control boxes, and drainpipes, following specifications and technical drawings.
- Install prefabricated sheet metal ducts for HVAC systems ensuring optimal airflow and energy efficiency.
- Set up and operate fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal as required.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to shape metal over anvils, blocks, or forms.
- Operate soldering and welding equipment to join sheet metal components securely.
- Inspect and smooth seams and joints of sheet metal parts to ensure high-quality finishes.
- Repair and maintain existing ductwork and sheet metal installations as needed.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure timely project completion.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Duct Installer or similar role within the HVAC industry.
- Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication techniques and installation processes.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and fabricating machines.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Knowledge of relevant safety standards and regulations in the HVAC field.
- Certification in HVAC or sheet metal work preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces.
