Job Brief
The Satellite Communications Operator is responsible for managing satellite communication systems and ensuring effective data transmission. Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain satellite communication equipment and systems for reliable data transmission.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to satellite communications systems.
- Conduct routine inspections and performance assessments of satellite hardware and software.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement system upgrades and improvements.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations and operational procedures.
- Provide technical support and training to team members on satellite communication systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in all satellite operations.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and satellite communication advancements.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in telecommunications, electronics, or a related field; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in operating satellite communication systems and equipment.
- Strong understanding of RF principles, satellite protocols, and network communications.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting techniques for satellite and telecommunication systems.
- Technical certifications related to satellite communications (e.g., SCTE, SBE) are a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for reporting and documentation.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
