This casting agencies been blowing smoke up my skirt for 25 years. Don’t waste your time. All these people want to do is sell you classes and monthly payments on their backstage booking website. No one ever calls you back, I don’t even think they have a real person in the office anymore. When I started with this casting agency it was pre-internet I met Angela I had talked on the phone with several casting agents, the internet has really done a number on this place they do not seem to care if they are presenting anyone with a professional business. Seriously don’t waste your time just go to New York. If you’re a woman it’s even worse you’ll probably never get booked because notoriously films in Boston don’t cast Massachusetts actresses they instead expect their Fame hungry celebrities to just talk with a mouthful of marbles and try and fake an accent that they never are good at. Seriously don’t waste your life with these people. It’s so sad the amount of time and effort I have spent being lied to buy this particular casting agency, they’ve had me take off work for shoots that never happened. The most unprofessional agency I have ever worked with Angela Bassett is a joke.

The staff is filled with very kind, compassionate and caring people but the organization is absolutely impossible to receive any work from, I signed up with them back in late March – Early April and also paid the fee necessary to make my portfolio viewable to casting agents, I was lucky enough to receive work as an extra in a movie back in April which was a fantastic experience, but besides that theres barely been anything sent my way which is a massive bummer and i’ve been turned down for anything else thats been sent my way (which for the record has been a VERY small number of opportunities) which stinks because I’ve had nothing but great social interactions with the staff, I feel like I totally wasted my money and wasted my time by signing up because theres been nothing but a massive drought of opportunities. My experience could be chalked up to bad luck but they shouldn’t expect people to pay money with the expectation of receiving work only to send next to no acting jobs their way. If you’re thinking about paying the fee for an account, don’t do it, it is not worth it in the slightest. If you want to get any consistent acting work then this is not the place to be.
