Job Brief

As a Word Processor, you will utilize word processing software and equipment to efficiently type letters, reports, forms, and various other documents from rough drafts, corrected copies, or voice recordings. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent typing skills, and proficiency in computer applications. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in a clerical or administrative setting and possess the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize word processing software to create, edit, and format documents accurately and efficiently.
  • Type and transcribe various materials from rough drafts, corrected copies, and audio recordings.
  • Review and proofread documents for grammar, punctuation, and formatting consistency.
  • Assist with the organization and storage of files and documents in both digital and physical formats.
  • Perform general clerical duties including data entry, filing, and maintaining office supplies.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and clients to ensure clarity of information.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a word processor or in a similar clerical position.
  • Proficiency in word processing software such as Microsoft Word, Google Docs, or equivalent.
  • Strong typing skills with a minimum typing speed of 60 words per minute.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Familiarity with document management systems is a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education in office administration is a plus.
