Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Wood Die Maker to join our team, responsible for planning, laying out, and constructing wooden unit or sectional patterns used in forming sand molds for castings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in woodworking, pattern making, and mold design, along with a keen eye for detail and excellent problem-solving skills. This position requires hands-on experience with woodworking tools and machinery, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and design wooden patterns for sand mold casting processes.
- Construct and assemble wooden unit and sectional patterns accurately and efficiently.
- Utilize woodworking tools and machinery to create high-quality molds.
- Inspect and evaluate patterns for quality assurance and adherence to specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize design and manufacturing processes.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on woodworking equipment.
- Document and report any issues or improvements related to pattern making processes.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Wood Die Maker or similar role in the manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques and tools, including CNC machines.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Familiarity with sand mold casting processes and pattern design.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in craftsmanship.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in woodworking or pattern making is a plus.
