Job Brief
As a Wire Mill Rover, you will play a critical role in the manufacturing process by setting up, operating, and tending machines that extrude or draw thermoplastic or metal materials into various products, including tubes, rods, hoses, wire, bars, and structural shapes. This role requires a keen attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues. Ideal candidates will have experience in a manufacturing environment, a strong understanding of wire production processes, and excellent problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Set up and adjust machines for optimal performance in wire and tube production.
- Operate extrusion and drawing machines to produce high-quality wire and rod products.
- Monitor production processes and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery to minimize downtime.
- Inspect finished products for defects and ensure they meet specifications.
- Document production metrics and report any inconsistencies to management.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in manufacturing preferred.
- Proven experience in a wire mill or similar manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical skills and an understanding of extrusion and drawing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Familiarity with quality control procedures and equipment maintenance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
