Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Water Meter Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of water meters and associated mechanical regulating devices. The role requires a strong understanding of plumbing systems, mechanical skills, and a commitment to safety standards. This position is suited for individuals with experience in field service work and a proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
Responsibilities
- Install water meters and related equipment according to industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on existing water meters to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and repair issues with mechanical regulating devices, including flow valves and thermostats.
- Collaborate with utility companies and contractors to coordinate installation and repair schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Provide exceptional customer service while interacting with clients during installations and repairs.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technology, and best practices related to water metering systems.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certification is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Water Meter Installer or in a similar role within the utility industry.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills related to plumbing and meter installations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in the utility field.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to accomplish project goals.
