Job Brief

The Veterinary Lab Technician plays a crucial role in the healthcare of animals by performing medical tests in a laboratory environment. Responsibilities

  • Collect and prepare tissue and blood samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Maintain and operate laboratory equipment and machines in accordance with safety standards.
  • Clean and sterilize laboratory instruments and materials to ensure compliance with health regulations.
  • Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures, providing necessary support and tools.
  • Document test results and maintain accurate records of laboratory work.
  • Stay updated on advancements in veterinary laboratory technology and techniques.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Veterinary Technology or a related field; certification as a Veterinary Technician is preferred.
  • Proven experience in a veterinary lab setting or related environment.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and techniques, including phlebotomy and sample preparation.
  • Familiarity with animal anatomy and physiology.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in using laboratory software and data management systems.
