The Underground Conduit Installer is responsible for the installation and repair of cables and wires essential for electrical power and distribution systems. Responsibilities
- Install and maintain underground conduits for electrical wiring systems.
- Excavate trenches and prepare sites for conduit installation in accordance with local regulations.
- Connect underground cables and wires, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify and repair any defects in conduits and wiring.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers and project managers to execute installation plans effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and inspections performed.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure work environment.
- Operate heavy machinery and tools safely for excavation and conduit placement.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in electrical installation preferred.
- Proven experience as an Underground Conduit Installer or similar role.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, conduit types, and installation techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in electrical installation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate construction vehicles and equipment.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
