Job Brief
As a Truck Engine Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, adjusting, repairing, and overhauling diesel engines in buses and trucks. Your expertise will ensure the efficient operation of various types of diesel engines, including those in automobiles and marine applications. Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical issues in diesel engines using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on trucks and buses to ensure optimal performance.
- Repair or replace defective parts and components, including fuel systems, exhaust systems, and electrical systems.
- Overhaul diesel engines, including disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of engine components.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance, and inspections performed on vehicles.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline repair processes and improve service efficiency.
- Adhere to safety protocols while working in the shop and on-site.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in diesel technology through ongoing training and education.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Truck Engine Technician or in a similar role within the diesel mechanic field.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and components, including electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Completion of a relevant technical school program or apprenticeship in diesel mechanics.
- Certification from a recognized organization (e.g., ASE certification) is preferred.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment specific to diesel engine repair.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
