Job Brief
The Truck Driver Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of material-moving machine and vehicle operators, ensuring efficient transportation and compliance with safety regulations. Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations of truck drivers and vehicle operators to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Coordinate schedules and routes to maximize efficiency and reduce transportation costs.
- Monitor compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide training for drivers to enhance skills and productivity.
- Resolve conflicts and address issues related to driver performance and vehicle maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, driver performance, and vehicle inspections.
- Implement best practices in logistics and transportation management to drive operational excellence.
- Collaborate with dispatch and warehouse teams to streamline operations and improve service quality.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant degree in logistics or management is a plus.
- Proven experience as a truck driver or in a supervisory role within logistics and transportation.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards in transportation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in using logistics software and GPS tracking systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
