Job Brief
As a Transportation Security Officer (TSO), you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of passengers, baggage, and cargo in compliance with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough screening of passengers, baggage, and cargo to identify potential security threats.
- Operate and monitor security screening equipment, including x-ray machines and metal detectors.
- Maintain compliance with TSA regulations and procedures to ensure passenger safety.
- Communicate effectively with passengers regarding security protocols and procedures.
- Document and report security incidents and irregularities in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with law enforcement and other security personnel to enhance overall security measures.
- Participate in training and development programs to stay current with security techniques and technologies.
- Assist in emergency response procedures as necessary to ensure the safety of all individuals in the transportation environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in security or law enforcement is preferred.
- Experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is advantageous.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail to identify potential security threats.
- Ability to operate security screening equipment effectively and efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with diverse individuals.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening as required by TSA regulations.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as necessary.
