Job Brief
As a Traffic Line Painter, you will play a crucial role in enhancing road safety and visibility by applying paint to various surfaces including roads, parking lots, and other traffic areas. This position requires an eye for detail, proficiency with painting equipment, and the ability to work in various weather conditions. Ideal candidates should possess experience in surface preparation, color mixing, and the application of traffic paint using brushes, rollers, and spray guns.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning and removing old paint to ensure optimal adhesion and finish.
- Mix paints and other materials to achieve desired colors and consistency for line marking.
- Utilize spray guns, brushes, and rollers to apply traffic paint on roads, parking lots, and other designated surfaces.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Inspect completed work for quality and compliance with specifications.
- Maintain and clean painting equipment and tools to ensure long-term usability.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to meet project deadlines.
- Document painting activities and report any issues or discrepancies to supervisors.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in painting or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience as a painter, preferably in traffic line painting or similar roles.
- Strong knowledge of paint mixing techniques, surface preparation, and application methods.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in the painting industry.
- Ability to operate painting equipment such as spray guns and rollers effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
