Job Brief

As a Tourist Guide, you will be responsible for escorting individuals and groups on engaging sightseeing tours, showcasing notable landmarks, cultural sites, and points of interest such as museums, historical sites, and art galleries. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong knowledge of local history and attractions, and the ability to create an enjoyable and educational experience for tourists. Previous experience in hospitality, tourism, or customer service is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct informative and engaging guided tours for individuals and groups at various attractions.
  • Provide historical, cultural, and contextual information about landmarks and sites visited.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of guests throughout the tour.
  • Answer questions and address concerns from tourists in a professional manner.
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of local attractions, history, and culture.
  • Assist in logistical planning and scheduling of tours.
  • Promote additional services, products, and experiences to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Gather feedback from participants to improve future tours and experiences.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a tour guide or in a similar role within the tourism industry.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage and connect with diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of local history, geography, and culture.
  • Certification in first aid and CPR is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Proficiency in multiple languages is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
