Job Brief
As a Terrazzo Setter, you will be responsible for applying a mixture of cement, sand, pigment, and marble chips to create durable and decorative surfaces on floors, stairways, and cabinet fixtures. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality finishes. Successful candidates will have experience in terrazzo installation and possess strong skills in surface preparation, mixing materials, and finishing techniques.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and clean surfaces to ensure optimal adhesion of terrazzo materials.
- Mix cement, sand, pigments, and marble chips according to specific project requirements.
- Apply terrazzo mixtures to designated areas using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Level and smooth surfaces to achieve a flawless finish.
- Grind and polish finished terrazzo surfaces to enhance durability and aesthetics.
- Inspect completed work for quality assurance and make necessary adjustments.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to meet deadlines and specifications.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Terrazzo Setter or in a similar role within the flooring industry.
- Strong knowledge of terrazzo materials, mixing ratios, and application techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools used in terrazzo installation.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual labor tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications are a plus.
