Job Brief
As a Terrazzo Layer, you will be responsible for applying a mixture of cement, sand, pigment, and marble chips to create durable and decorative surfaces on floors, stairways, and cabinet fixtures. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of terrazzo installation techniques, have experience with various materials, and demonstrate strong attention to detail. This role requires a blend of technical skills and creativity to produce high-quality finishes that enhance aesthetic appeal.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying a base layer for terrazzo installation.
- Mix and apply terrazzo materials, ensuring consistency in color and texture.
- Utilize hand tools and machinery to shape and finish terrazzo surfaces.
- Install decorative elements, including patterns and colors, to meet design specifications.
- Inspect finished surfaces for quality and make adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain equipment and tools to ensure proper functioning and safety.
- Collaborate with contractors and designers to align on project requirements and timelines.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations while working on-site to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Terrazzo Layer or in a similar role within the flooring industry.
- Knowledge of terrazzo materials, application techniques, and finishing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship in surface finishing.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various environmental conditions.
- Familiarity with safety standards and building codes related to flooring installations.
- Certification in flooring installation or related field is a plus.
