Job Brief
The Telephone Lines Repairer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications cables, including copper and fiber optics. Responsibilities
- Install and maintain telecommunications cables, including fiber optic and copper lines, ensuring optimal performance.
- Conduct routine inspections and diagnostic tests on lines to identify faults and degradation in service.
- Utilize specialized tools and equipment for the repair and installation of telephone lines, adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement network upgrades and enhancements.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client concerns and explaining repair processes.
- Document all repairs, installations, and maintenance activities accurately for reporting and compliance purposes.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in telecommunications technology to enhance skill sets.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in telecommunications is preferred.
- Proven experience as a telephone lines repairer or in a related technical field.
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications systems, including DSL, VoIP, and fiber optic technology.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in the installation and maintenance of telecommunication lines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with clients and team members.
