Responsibilities
- Analyze tax returns and financial statements to determine tax liabilities.
- Conduct audits and investigations to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Provide guidance and support to taxpayers regarding tax obligations and procedures.
- Collect overdue taxes and negotiate payment plans with individuals and businesses.
- Prepare reports and documentation for tax assessments and collections.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve tax-related issues and disputes.
- Assist in the development and implementation of tax collection strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in tax administration, revenue collection, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in tax software and financial analysis tools.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for taxpayer interactions.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) is a plus.
