The Sunday School Missionary plays a vital role in promoting religious education and spiritual growth within the community. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive Sunday School curricula that align with church teachings and community needs.
- Lead engaging and interactive religious education sessions for children, youth, and adults.
- Recruit, train, and support volunteer teachers and helpers to ensure effective program delivery.
- Organize and coordinate special events, such as retreats and community service projects, to enhance spiritual development.
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages participation and fosters community relationships.
- Collaborate with church leaders to align educational goals with the overall mission and vision of the church.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and make adjustments based on feedback and community needs.
- Maintain communication with families and church members regarding program updates and opportunities for involvement.
Requirements
- Proven experience in religious education or a related field, preferably within a church or faith-based organization.
- Strong understanding of theological concepts and the ability to convey them effectively to diverse audiences.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with church staff, volunteers, and community members.
- Familiarity with educational best practices and innovative teaching methods.
- Background check clearance and adherence to child safety policies.
- A Bachelor’s degree in theology, education, or a related field is preferred.
