Job Brief
The Steel Fabricator plays a crucial role in the construction industry, responsible for raising, placing, and uniting iron or steel girders, columns, and other structural components to create robust frameworks for various structures. Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble structural steel components, including girders, columns, and beams.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate construction.
- Utilize welding and cutting equipment to join metal parts and create structural frameworks.
- Install metal storage tanks and prefabricated metal buildings according to project requirements.
- Conduct quality control inspections to verify the integrity and compliance of fabricated components.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while operating machinery and handling materials.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, ensuring they are safe to use.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in metal fabrication or welding preferred.
- Proven experience as a Steel Fabricator or similar role in the construction or manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, metal properties, and fabrication processes.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools, including welding machines and cutting equipment.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in the construction industry.
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy materials and work in various conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
