Job Brief

The Brazer is responsible for using hand-welding, flame-cutting, hand-soldering, and brazing equipment to weld or join metal components effectively. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work with various metal types to ensure high-quality fabrication. Ideal candidates will possess significant experience in metal joining techniques, a thorough understanding of safety protocols, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize brazing techniques to join metal components, ensuring structural integrity and precision.
  • Operate hand-welding and flame-cutting equipment to fabricate and assemble metal products.
  • Inspect and assess metal parts for defects and determine appropriate repair methods.
  • Read and interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on welding and brazing equipment.
  • Document work performed and maintain accurate records of materials used and hours worked.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in welding or metal fabrication preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Brazer or in a similar welding role.
  • Strong knowledge of brazing, welding, and soldering techniques and equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents, such as blueprints and specifications.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to handle tools and materials effectively.
  • Valid welding certification may be required, depending on the employer.
