Job Brief
The Ship Steward plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers aboard vessels, including ships, buses, and trains. The Ship Steward is responsible for explaining the use of safety equipment, serving meals and beverages, and providing assistance to travelers with inquiries related to their journey. Responsibilities
- Ensure passenger safety by explaining safety equipment and emergency procedures.
- Serve meals, beverages, and snacks to passengers in a timely manner.
- Assist passengers with inquiries and provide information regarding travel itineraries.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas and dining facilities.
- Monitor passenger comfort and address any concerns or requests promptly.
- Collaborate with other crew members to enhance the overall passenger experience.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Participate in safety drills and training sessions as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in hospitality is a plus.
- Proven experience in customer service or hospitality roles, preferably in a travel or maritime setting.
- Strong communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and emergency response procedures.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly demeanor.
