Job Brief
The Sheet Rock Applier plays a crucial role in the construction and renovation of buildings by expertly applying plasterboard and other wall materials to ceilings and interior walls. Responsibilities
- Install plasterboard or wallboard on ceilings and interior walls to create a smooth, finished surface.
- Apply acoustical tiles, blocks, or sheets to reduce sound transmission and enhance building acoustics.
- Utilize hand and power tools to cut, shape, and fit drywall according to project specifications.
- Fasten wooden, metal, or rockboard lath to create a stable base for plaster or acoustical materials.
- Ensure all installations comply with local building codes and safety regulations.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on existing drywall and plaster installations.
- Collaborate with construction teams to coordinate project timelines and deliver quality results on schedule.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational training is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Sheet Rock Applier or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of drywall installation techniques, soundproofing practices, and finishing methods.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations within construction settings.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and equipment related to drywall application.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
