Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing a variety of sheet metal products and equipment, including ducts, control boxes, drainpipes, and furnace casings. Candidates should have a strong background in sheet metal work, with experience in operating fabricating machines and welding equipment. Key skills include attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble sheet metal products according to specifications and industry standards.
- Install sheet metal ducts and components for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
- Operate fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal materials.
- Shape metal using hammers, anvils, and other hand tools to achieve desired forms.
- Perform welding and soldering operations to join sheet metal parts securely.
- Inspect and repair sheet metal installations to ensure quality and compliance with safety regulations.
- Smooth seams and joints of burred surfaces for optimal performance and aesthetics.
- Collaborate with other trades and project managers to ensure timely completion of installations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Installer or similar role in the construction or manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and installation techniques.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems and ductwork installation.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Relevant certifications in welding or HVAC preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
