Job Brief
As a Shearing Machine Tender, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and tending to machines that cut or slice various materials such as glass, stone, cork, rubber, tobacco, food, paper, or insulating materials. Responsibilities
- Set up and calibrate shearing machines according to specifications and production needs.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency while adhering to safety standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on shearing machines to minimize downtime.
- Inspect materials before and after shearing to confirm adherence to quality control processes.
- Adjust machine settings based on material types and specifications to achieve optimal results.
- Maintain accurate production records and report any discrepancies to management.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline processes and improve production efficiency.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in machine operation is preferred.
- Proven experience as a machine operator or in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
- Strong mechanical skills and knowledge of machine operation and maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
- Familiarity with quality control procedures and safety regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina and strength to operate heavy machinery and lift materials as needed.
