Job Brief
We are seeking a detail-oriented Seed Analyst to join our team, focusing on agricultural research and development. The ideal candidate will work closely with agricultural scientists to conduct tests aimed at improving crop yield and quality while enhancing resistance to diseases and pests. This role requires a strong foundation in biology or life sciences, as well as experience in laboratory procedures, data collection, and sample preparation.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with agricultural scientists on plant, fiber, and animal research projects.
- Set up and maintain laboratory equipment for efficient testing and analysis.
- Collect and prepare samples from crops or livestock for experimentation.
- Record and analyze data to support scientific research in plant and animal sciences.
- Conduct experiments to assess crop performance and resistance to environmental stressors.
- Assist in developing innovative methodologies to enhance agricultural productivity.
- Prepare reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in laboratory practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Agronomy, Plant Science, or related field.
- Proven experience in laboratory settings, preferably within agricultural research.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data collection and statistical analysis.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and techniques related to seed analysis.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, for effective collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects.
- Knowledge of agricultural practices and pest management strategies is a plus.
