Job Brief
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for implementing and managing safety programs and policies to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. This role requires a thorough understanding of safety regulations, risk assessment, and incident investigation. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement safety programs and training initiatives to promote a culture of safety.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate safety records and documentation, including incident reports and training logs.
- Collaborate with management to establish safety policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards.
- Provide safety training and resources to employees to enhance awareness and compliance.
- Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Stay up to date with occupational health and safety legislation and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety coordination or a related role.
- Certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
- Proficient in risk assessment and incident investigation techniques.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
