Job Brief

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for implementing and managing safety programs and policies to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. This role requires a thorough understanding of safety regulations, risk assessment, and incident investigation. Ideal candidates will possess strong analytical skills, effective communication abilities, and a commitment to promoting workplace safety. A minimum of 3 years of experience in safety management and relevant certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement safety programs and training initiatives to promote a culture of safety.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate safety records and documentation, including incident reports and training logs.
  • Collaborate with management to establish safety policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards.
  • Provide safety training and resources to employees to enhance awareness and compliance.
  • Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay up to date with occupational health and safety legislation and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety coordination or a related role.
  • Certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
  • Proficient in risk assessment and incident investigation techniques.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
