Job Brief
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Route Salesperson to manage customer accounts, deliver products, and drive sales within an established territory. The ideal candidate will have experience in sales, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to effectively manage logistics. Responsibilities include driving a vehicle along designated routes, delivering goods such as food products, taking orders, collecting payments, and restocking merchandise at delivery points.
Responsibilities
- Drive a truck or vehicle over established routes to deliver goods and services to customers.
- Manage customer relations by providing exceptional service and addressing inquiries or concerns.
- Take accurate orders and process payments efficiently at the point of delivery.
- Stock and arrange products in customer locations to optimize sales opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, sales, and customer interactions.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to management.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies while operating the vehicle.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling products during customer visits.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in business or sales is a plus.
- Proven experience in route sales, retail sales, or a related field.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer engagement.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and inventory management.
- Familiarity with delivery and sales software systems is advantageous.
- Physical ability to lift and carry products as required.
