Job Brief
We are seeking an experienced Riding Coach to instruct and mentor individuals and groups in equestrian sports, primarily focusing on competition preparation. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of riding techniques and methodologies, along with the ability to evaluate athletes’ skills and areas for improvement. A commitment to fostering a positive and motivating environment for riders of all levels is essential, along with effective communication and leadership skills.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement training programs tailored to the needs of individual riders and teams.
- Demonstrate and teach riding techniques, safety protocols, and competition strategies.
- Assess and analyze athletes’ performance, providing constructive feedback for skill enhancement.
- Prepare riders for competitions by developing their technical skills, mental readiness, and confidence.
- Organize and oversee practice sessions, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Maintain knowledge of current trends and best practices in equestrian coaching.
- Collaborate with parents and other stakeholders to support rider development and goals.
- Keep accurate records of athletes’ progress and performance metrics.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Riding Coach or similar role in equestrian sports.
- Strong knowledge of riding techniques, horse care, and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with riders and their families.
- Certification in riding instruction or relevant coaching credentials preferred.
- Ability to assess and evaluate rider performance and potential.
- Passion for equestrian sports and a strong commitment to athlete development.
- First aid and CPR certification is a plus.
