Job Brief

As a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for producing high-quality ultrasonic recordings of internal organs to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations on patients to create images of internal organs and structures.
  • Utilize advanced ultrasound equipment to capture high-resolution images while adhering to safety and quality standards.
  • Provide patient education and support, explaining procedures and addressing any concerns prior to examinations.
  • Analyze sonographic data and collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret results and contribute to patient care decisions.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of imaging procedures and outcomes.
  • Follow departmental protocols for equipment maintenance, ensuring optimal functioning of ultrasound machinery.
  • Stay updated on technological advances in sonography and participate in continuing education opportunities.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new sonography staff and students on best practices and techniques.

Requirements

  • Current registration as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) from a recognized certifying body.
  • Proven experience in performing ultrasound examinations, particularly in abdominal and vascular sonography.
  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology relevant to ultrasound imaging.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction and teamwork.
  • Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment and software for image acquisition and analysis.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills to ensure accurate imaging results.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred.
