Job Brief
The Refractory Repairer is responsible for the construction, maintenance, and repair of high-temperature industrial equipment such as furnaces, kilns, and ovens using refractory materials. Responsibilities
- Construct, repair, and maintain refractory linings in furnaces, kilns, and other industrial equipment.
- Utilize refractory materials, such as bricks and castables, to ensure optimal thermal performance.
- Inspect and assess the condition of existing refractory installations to identify areas needing repair.
- Mix and apply refractory materials according to industry specifications and safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop effective refractory solutions for equipment upgrades.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on refractory equipment to prevent operational failures.
- Document repairs and maintenance activities for compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working in high-temperature environments.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in refractory materials or related fields is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Refractory Repairer or in a similar role in the industrial sector.
- Strong knowledge of refractory materials, properties, and applications.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations related to refractory work.
- Ability to work in high-temperature environments and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
- Certifications in refractory installation or maintenance are a plus.
