Job Brief
As a Reactor Projects Engineer, you will conduct in-depth research and analysis on nuclear engineering projects, applying advanced principles of nuclear science to address challenges related to the release, control, and utilization of nuclear energy, as well as nuclear waste management. This role requires a strong foundation in nuclear engineering, project management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research and feasibility studies on nuclear reactor systems and technologies.
- Analyze and interpret data to resolve engineering challenges related to nuclear energy production.
- Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets for reactor projects.
- Collaborate with safety, regulatory, and compliance teams to ensure adherence to industry standards.
- Design and optimize processes for the safe disposal of nuclear waste.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation for project stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
- Participate in project meetings and provide updates on project progress and challenges.
- Stay current with advancements in nuclear technology and engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in nuclear engineering, with a focus on reactor systems.
- Strong understanding of nuclear physics, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
- Familiarity with nuclear safety standards and regulations (e.g., NRC guidelines).
- Proficient in project management methodologies and tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Professional certification in engineering (e.g., PE license) is a plus.
