Job Brief

The Radiological Control and Safety Technician plays a critical role in maintaining safety standards in environments where hazardous materials are present. Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess hazardous materials in various environments to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Remove and properly dispose of hazardous materials, including asbestos, lead, and contaminated soil.
  • Pack and transport hazardous substances safely to designated disposal sites.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to ensure adherence to environmental and safety standards.
  • Operate earth-moving equipment and trucks as required for the safe handling of hazardous materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of hazardous materials handling and disposal activities.
  • Collaborate with environmental safety teams to develop and implement safety protocols.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members on hazardous materials handling and safety procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education in environmental science or a related field preferred.
  • Specialized training and certification in hazardous materials handling and confined space entry.
  • Proven experience in radiological safety, hazardous waste management, or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for hazardous materials handling.
  • Ability to operate earth-moving equipment and trucks; valid driver’s license required.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to undergo ongoing training and certification as needed.
