Job Brief
As a Radiochemical Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting nuclear physicists, nuclear engineers, and scientists in various laboratory and power generation activities. Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting experimental studies in nuclear chemistry and radiological safety.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot nuclear testing and research equipment.
- Perform quality control checks and maintain accurate records of laboratory results.
- Monitor radiation levels and implement safety measures to protect personnel and the environment.
- Prepare and analyze radiochemical samples using appropriate methodologies.
- Support the development and optimization of nuclear processes and procedures.
- Collaborate with scientists to interpret data and contribute to research findings.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to radiological safety.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Radiochemistry, Nuclear Science, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in a laboratory setting, particularly in radiochemical analysis.
- Strong knowledge of radiation detection equipment and safety protocols.
- Familiarity with quality control procedures and laboratory best practices.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Certification in radiological safety or related fields is a plus.
- Strong communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with team members.
