Job Brief
As a Radiation Therapy Technologist, you will provide high-quality radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by radiation oncologists, adhering to established practices and standards. This role requires a strong understanding of radiation safety, patient care, and technical skills related to radiation therapy equipment. Responsibilities
- Administer radiation therapy treatments to patients following prescribed protocols and safety standards.
- Review patient prescriptions and diagnoses to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Act as a liaison between the radiation oncologist, patients, and supportive care personnel.
- Prepare and maintain radiation therapy equipment including immobilization, treatment, and protection devices.
- Maintain accurate patient records, reports, and treatment files in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Assist in dosimetry procedures and tumor localization to enhance treatment accuracy.
- Monitor patient responses to therapy and report any adverse reactions to the healthcare team.
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety protocols and quality assurance measures.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Radiation Therapy Technology or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Current certification by a recognized body such as the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Strong understanding of radiation physics, anatomy, and treatment planning.
- Proficiency in using radiation therapy equipment and software systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills in managing patient records and reports.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Knowledge of current trends and advancements in radiation therapy techniques.
