Job Brief
As a Qualified Medical Dosimetrist, you will play a critical role in the radiation oncology team by generating precise radiation treatment plans and developing accurate radiation dose calculations. You will communicate effectively with healthcare professionals to supervise the implementation of treatment plans and ensure optimal patient outcomes. This position requires a strong understanding of radiation physics, software applications used in treatment planning, and collaboration with medical physicists and radiation oncologists.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive radiation treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Conduct detailed radiation dose calculations to ensure accuracy and safety.
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists and medical physicists to optimize treatment strategies.
- Supervise the implementation of treatment plans, ensuring adherence to protocols.
- Utilize advanced treatment planning software to design and evaluate dosimetric plans.
- Maintain meticulous records of treatment plans and patient data for compliance and quality assurance.
- Participate in quality assurance programs and assist in the development of departmental protocols.
- Provide education and support to patients regarding the treatment process and expected outcomes.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Medical Dosimetry or a related field.
- Certification from the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in radiation oncology or medical dosimetry.
- Proficient in using treatment planning systems and software applications.
- Strong knowledge of radiation physics and relevant safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
