The Turbine Room Attendant is responsible for controlling, operating, and maintaining machinery that generates electric power, including auxiliary equipment. Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor turbine systems to ensure efficient generation of electric power
- Perform regular maintenance checks on turbines and auxiliary equipment to prevent failures
- Adjust machinery settings based on operational requirements and safety protocols
- Document operational data and maintenance activities for compliance and reporting
- Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot operational issues and implement solutions
- Adhere to safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe working environment
- Assist in training new staff on turbine operations and safety protocols
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in power generation preferred
- Proven experience in operating turbines or similar machinery in a power generation environment
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations and make quick decisions
- Familiarity with safety regulations and industry standards related to power generation
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work in shifts and on-call as needed
