Job Brief

The Turbine Room Attendant is responsible for controlling, operating, and maintaining machinery that generates electric power, including auxiliary equipment. Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor turbine systems to ensure efficient generation of electric power
  • Perform regular maintenance checks on turbines and auxiliary equipment to prevent failures
  • Adjust machinery settings based on operational requirements and safety protocols
  • Document operational data and maintenance activities for compliance and reporting
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot operational issues and implement solutions
  • Adhere to safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe working environment
  • Assist in training new staff on turbine operations and safety protocols

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in power generation preferred
  • Proven experience in operating turbines or similar machinery in a power generation environment
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations and make quick decisions
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and industry standards related to power generation
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to work in shifts and on-call as needed
