Job Brief
The Pump Stitcher is responsible for operating and tending a variety of stitching machines to join, decorate, reinforce, or finish shoes and shoe components. This role requires a keen eye for detail, precision in executing stitching patterns, and the ability to work with different materials. Ideal candidates should possess experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in the footwear industry, and have strong technical skills related to machine operation and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Operate various stitching machines to create durable and aesthetically pleasing seams on footwear products.
- Inspect finished products for quality assurance, ensuring adherence to company standards.
- Adjust machine settings to accommodate different materials and stitching techniques.
- Collaborate with design teams to understand stitching specifications and project requirements.
- Maintain and troubleshoot machinery to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Monitor production schedules and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of workmanship.
- Document production processes and maintain accurate records of materials used and output achieved.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in sewing or machine operation is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Pump Stitcher or in a similar role within the footwear manufacturing industry.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot stitching machinery.
- Knowledge of various stitching techniques, materials, and quality control standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
