Job Brief
As a Pump Jockey, you will play a vital role in servicing a variety of vehicles, including automobiles, buses, trucks, and boats, by providing fuel, lubricants, and essential accessories. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong customer service mindset, capable of collecting payments and performing basic maintenance tasks such as lubricating vehicles, changing motor oil, and replacing accessories. Ideal candidates will possess effective communication skills, basic mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide fuel and lubricants to automobiles, trucks, boats, and other vehicles efficiently and accurately.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, including changing motor oil, refilling antifreeze, and replacing lights or accessories.
- Lubricate vehicles and conduct minor repairs as needed to ensure optimal performance.
- Collect payments for services rendered and maintain accurate transaction records.
- Monitor and maintain fuel supplies, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Assist customers with inquiries and provide exceptional service to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Repair or replace tires, ensuring vehicles are roadworthy and safe for operation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the service area and equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in automotive service preferred.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Strong customer service and communication skills to interact effectively with clients.
- Ability to operate fuel dispensing equipment and perform cash handling transactions accurately.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations related to fuel handling and vehicle servicing.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual tasks associated with vehicle maintenance.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; additional certifications in automotive service are a plus.
