Job Brief
As a Psychotherapist Social Worker, you will assess and treat individuals experiencing mental, emotional, or substance abuse issues, including challenges related to alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. This role requires expertise in providing both individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, case management, and client advocacy. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients’ mental health and substance use issues.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on client needs and goals.
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
- Offer crisis intervention and support during critical situations to ensure client safety.
- Manage a caseload of clients and maintain accurate documentation of progress and treatment outcomes.
- Advocate for clients’ needs within the community and connect them with appropriate resources.
- Educate clients and families about mental health and substance abuse issues to promote awareness and prevention.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in mental health or substance abuse settings.
- Proficient in various therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective client engagement.
- Experience in crisis intervention and case management practices.
- Knowledge of community resources and support systems available for clients.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations and within a multidisciplinary team.
