Job Brief
As an Oil Pipeline Operator, you will be responsible for operating and controlling petroleum refining or processing units. This role involves managing manifold and pumping systems, conducting gauging or testing of oil in storage tanks, and regulating the flow of oil into pipelines. Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor equipment used in the transportation of oil and gas products.
- Control manifold systems and pumping stations to ensure efficient flow and pressure of oil.
- Conduct regular inspections and tests on oil in storage tanks to ensure quality and compliance.
- Regulate the flow of oil into pipelines, adjusting valves and controls as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of operations, including flow rates and inventory levels.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues in pipeline operations and implement corrective measures.
- Adhere to safety protocols and environmental regulations to minimize risks during operations.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to schedule and conduct routine equipment maintenance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certification preferred.
- Proven experience as an Oil Pipeline Operator or in a similar role within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong understanding of oil and gas operations, including pipeline mechanics and control systems.
- Proficient in using industry-specific software and monitoring systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and environmental standards in the oil sector.
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions and on a shift basis if required.
