Job Brief
As a Prison Guard, you will play a vital role in maintaining safety and security within correctional facilities. Your primary responsibilities will include supervising inmates, enforcing institutional regulations, and ensuring the safety of both staff and inmates. The ideal candidate will possess strong observational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to upholding ethical standards within a rehabilitative environment. Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor inmate activities to maintain order and safety within the facility.
- Enforce rules and regulations as outlined by institutional policies.
- Conduct regular inspections of premises to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Assist in the transportation of inmates to and from court hearings, medical appointments, and other facilities.
- Respond to emergencies, including fights or medical incidents, in a timely and professional manner.
- Document incidents, inmate behavior, and any irregularities in daily reports.
- Collaborate with fellow correctional staff to implement rehabilitation programs and manage inmate behavior.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills in crisis intervention and conflict resolution.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in criminal justice or related fields is a plus.
- Previous experience in law enforcement, security, or correctional facilities is preferred.
- Valid certification in CPR and First Aid.
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work in high-stress situations while maintaining professionalism.
- Knowledge of legal regulations and ethical standards in corrections.
- Physical fitness to perform duties that may require standing for extended periods and responding quickly in emergencies.
