Job Brief

The Preschool Director is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating both academic and non-academic activities at preschools or childcare centers. This leadership role requires a strong background in early childhood education, exceptional management skills, and the ability to create a safe and nurturing learning environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in program development, staff supervision, and parental engagement, ensuring compliance with state regulations and best practices in early childhood education.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the preschool or childcare center, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment for children.
  • Develop and implement educational programs that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development.
  • Recruit, train, and evaluate preschool staff, fostering professional development and a collaborative team culture.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and facilities to ensure the efficient operation of the center.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, addressing concerns and promoting parental involvement in the educational process.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding health, safety, and educational standards.
  • Organize and coordinate before- and after-school care programs to meet the needs of families.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements based on feedback and assessment data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a preschool or childcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood education best practices and developmental milestones.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with state licensing requirements and childcare regulations.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly desirable.
  • Ability to create partnerships with families and community organizations.
